2022 URMA Member Survey
ABOUT THE SURVEY
This year, we focused on 4 main topics:
- Better understanding the organization’s demographics, so we can better serve and expand our membership, identify and overcome our biases, and improve our own DEI efforts
- The kinds of teams that we are on, our backgrounds, and our salaries (perhaps to assist in future negotiation efforts!?)
- The kinds of content we produce and what we do with that content, and
- Magazines, especially our digital presence. This is meant to complement the previous survey, which heavily explored print magazines.

At our July URMA Live!, URMA board member Kathryn Jepsen will take a critical look at this sentiment while examining how generative AI and large language models work, how chatbots like ChatGPT were trained, how they can go wrong, and how they’re a part of a larger change to the internet.
