DESCRIPTION: The Associate Director of the Environmental Innovations Initiative is responsible for enhancing the visibility of the Initiative and elevating Penn’s collective impact related to climate, the environment, and sustainability. In particular, the Associate Director provides strategic direction and oversight of the office’s communications, including its website, newsletters, social media, news, features, and other publications. The Associate Director also leads the creation and implementation of high-profile events on campus, in Philadelphia, and at national and global gatherings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Superior writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong time and project management skills are required.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently required.
  • Exceptional administrative, planning, and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency with website management, as well as various social media platforms required.
  • Event management experience is required.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and working with designers preferred.
  • Grant writing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with managing others considered.
