DESCRIPTION: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a strong writer and communications specialist to support the Human Resources organization in its efforts to recruit, develop, and retain an exceptional workforce. This position requires someone who is passionate about meeting the needs of an internal audience, and who can efficiently provide regular information and updates on key processes, initiatives, and benefits. The role also entails providing strategic support for campaigns. Candidates should possess experience across a range of communications disciplines, including writing, web content, social media, and executing strategic communications plans.
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Qualifications:
• A BS degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience producing communications products for general audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience fulfilling urgent requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Experience writing for and supporting communications for the HR profession.
• Ability to develop, update, and maintain informative and compelling website content, adhering to a consistent schedule to keep information fresh.
• Ability to support communications projects from concept to completion within deadlines and in collaboration with other team members.
• Experience working in SharePoint, WordPress, or other content management systems.
• Ability to balance multiple demands with a sharp attention to detail to perform professionally and capably under pressure.
• Previous experience with DOE or other government agencies.
